Haymaking in the Yorkshire Dales...

that's twice you made me weep today Sir

thank you for your positive input!!!

You're welcome. :) Btw, your shot reminded me of some featured recently on Fred Miranda (I think). The photographer used a Nikon 200mm f/2.0 for absolutely amazing subject isolation and clarity of people on a beach.

Ditto. It's like a sauna in our house. And just so you know , AC doesn't really exist in 98% of houses in the UK.

Was same here in Glasgow horrid horrid weather... beautifully warm during the day but you know you are paying for it at night.

AC in the UK is what powers our camera chargers... :)

Obviously not shot in July, but I just got around to processing some photos from a trip to Austria and Germany last October...

This is Marienberg Fortress in Würzburg, Germany.

Love the DOF in this photo. Very nice!

It's already been said, but fantastic isolation of subject. Nice colour and light too.

Really great shot....great light.

Yeah I'm going to chip in on this one too. Awesome shot! Nice work mate.

much appreciated!!
tbh I never thought/felt THAT much of that photo. I just liked it, never loved it.

Now, its attributed value is significantly augmented :D

It really is around the world with needfx this week isn't it. I love the lighting in this one.

Stunning location. Moody sky. Good job.

The fabled "Walled Garden"?

Nice pic. Good luck with your contest entry.

Dale

The plants above the door were past their best, which ultimately meant I chose a different picture to enter.

This was one of three I shortlisted for this weeks competition.

Comments always welcome.

I like this comp!

Might I suggest a crop for this specific photo?

I really find the square format to draw more the attention to the door and wall, the unseen endings of the plants on the right makes the shrubbery appear more plush and the two diagonal lines (the wall and the path) become more evident and contradicting direction-wise

I am no authority on photography, just a suggestion

Interesting interpretation. I'd have never thought about going square.

What I liked most in the picture was the contrast of the blue door to everything else, hence I'm not as keen on the B&W.
Thanks for taking time to play around with it though!:)
