Interesting interpretation. I'd have never thought about going square.

What I liked most in the picture was the contrast of the blue door to everything else, hence I'm not as keen on the B&W.
Thanks for taking time to play around with it though!:)

had fun testing it out.

regarding door contrast, I used a blue filter black & white option which gave it this white rendition. default and others made it grey/black.

I like the dominate verticals in the original. The door and image frame are in the same relationship to each other. More consistent.

And thats the fun thing about photography isn't it? No right or wrong (well there are some general no, no's!) just opinions.

The fact that I went portrait over landscape probably means I agree with you in terms of composition.

How about the B&W square crop with a selective blue door? Just another opinion. That's a versatile photo you took there AFB!

Here's mine for today - an office block I saw in Liverpool last week - I liked the pattern the windows created...

I did think of selective colour, but I can never make up my mind if I think it looks good or not.

I like the office window pattern. Shouldn't the colour be red not blue though for Liverpool?:D

Is it a heatsink?

Yes sir. Had an old motherboard laying around. Had some fun with it. Those things can make fun abstract shapes up close.

Dunnoscus Sadiplanticus

I know you're not a gardener MacRy so I hope you don't take offence when I say that's a pretty sad looking plant you've got there...poor plant. :(

I think it might be a plum tree in retrospect and no offence as my garden is a study in Darwinian theory - survival of the fittest.

Good depth of field though!

Thanks. That was the plan. My garden is best viewed via a very shallow DOF.
