The dog doesn't look happy with the picture taking :)

Is that a ford truck by the way? I would't think there would be too many of those in rural Sweden.
The dog is just old. The truck is a Ford model A,and as the model A was just about the most sold car in Sweden during its production span, there are some of those left. The picture is not exactly from a rural area,it's in the central part of "old Linköping",a Town that today is most known for its university and the high-tech aircraft company.

I remember there used to be a thread on another forum, kinda like the weekly photo contest here..

The winner would post up a preview and a link to a raw file (e.g. via drop box)...
Participants would have a go at post processing it and describe the steps they took.
At the end of the week the OP would post their version up and decide a winner
The winner would then post up a new preview and a link to a new raw and the process started again...

It was a great way to learn new techniques and almost anyone who took part was happy to describe their process in more detail, if you needed it.

Sounds like an excellent idea to me. I really enjoy seeing how people work, especially with landscapes and tricky lighting that can't be controlled, and would love to hear how other people go about their post.

Shall we set one up and see how it goes?

I think we tried it before on here. But why not if people are interested?

I'd give it a go if people wanted to give it a go...in the meantime a shop window that caught my eye...

Ok, I will set something up with a file tonight when I get home from work - maybe do 3 shots for a bit of variety and people can mess about with each one? Whatcha think - or is 3 overkill?

When you click on 'Reply' there is an option to 'Upload a file' - I believe there is a size limit so you would need to resize any photos down to 2 or 3MB before uploading.

Cheers :)

ha ha thanks, TBF i have been messing around with the 'painterly look' with the M10, it does give you a lot of DR to play around with..

an extreme example i know...but here is a 5 stop pull at iso 100, original ooc on the left.
