I'll keep my eyes open but unless I go wandering around in the common grounds area or peering into various nooks and crannies in my building and the one next door, I might not have much luck. Actually, the HOA informed us recently that there will be some work done in the common grounds area involving digging up some of the ground and putting in a better drainage system, etc., so while that is going on I don't think we'll be able to casually and freely walk around in there. I hope that the birdies and the squirrels, everybody who has set up housekeeping in that area, is able to escape and to find a safe place to hang out in the meantime.

Yeah, those darned swallows don't hesitate to dive-bomb humans. I've had that happen in the past -- not this year or last, but a while ago, and it was really annoying trying to walk on the boardwalk and have these guys zooming in-and-out and making it clear that humans weren't welcome, that this was THEIR territory!!! That hasn't happened recently to me but I wouldn't be surprised if others have experienced it this summer.
That's odd. We have them here, and they don't bother us one bit. I guess they get used to people if they take to a shared environment, but the ones around us always keep their distance. I can't complain about them, as anything that eats flying bugs around here is more than welcome.

it's that time of year again. 🙂 we have three separate trips planned in the next month, so it's unlikely we will farm them like we did last year. I hope to still track some of their progress this year though.

Went on a long bicycle ride this past Sunday from the Swiss town of Nyon to the town of Lausanne (actually Ouchy which is on the Leman lake and where the Olympic Museum is lcoated). About 40 kilometres but we stopped quite a few times for picnics and to take in the scenery. Saw a very unusual sight at Saint Suplice on the way:

Yes a black swan and an unusual boat that resembles a junk.
Is that the Luch Ness monster in the foreground?

Have you tried a rubber lens hood to reduce glare? I bought one but haven’t been back since.
I was using a 135mm prime for this trip to the zoo, so couldn’t get close enough to the glass for a lens hood to be practical. Depending on how close the fish are to the glass and the minimum focus distance of the lens, I could see how it would be useful.

A bit of swamp running yesterday. Had I noticed the bug on the stump I would have done a close up of that as well.
Fuji XP-90 camera.

Okay. Is it just me or does that look like the back of some blokes head that’s been attacked with an axe.
If it’s just me I probably need to see someone……
