That could be......although there are no trees immediately adjacent to my deck there are plenty of them in the nearby common grounds area or of course in other places in the community such as in the rafters or eaves of some of our buildings where the swallows could have a nest (a couple of nests?) and/or fledglings...... Whatever was going on the four of them were really letting this crow know that they didn't like him or whatever he had been doing! My guess is that the crow was hunting either their nest or there are fledglings about to leave the nest. There are a lot of young birds out there, and the adults get quite protective of the territory where their young will be taking their first steps. I've seen a chickadee and a robin run squirrels off, and I mean chase them across the ground and up into another tree. Since fledglings don't fly particularly well, it appears the adults chase off unwelcome guests prior to the young leaving the nest, making it safer for them to earn their wings. I've seen similar behavior with blue jays taking turns buzzing a hawk to get him to move on.
Sounds to me like you might have an opportunity to get some baby photos coming up. Just know they might buzz after you, too. That could be......although there are no trees immediately adjacent to my deck there are plenty of them in the nearby common grounds area or of course in other places in the community such as in the rafters or eaves of some of our buildings where the swallows could have a nest (a couple of nests?) and/or fledglings...... Do slides scan better than photos. That looks like a clean digital shot. The Mission always looks like it's in 1972
They went through a quality digitizing process, IMO.Do slides scan better than photos. That looks like a clean digital shot.
Was it re-colorized? Looks a lot more dynamic than film. They went through a quality digitizing process, IMO.
The digitizer color corrected and I did a quick highlight, shadow, white and black points in lightroom. Otherwise the color is spot on from the slide. These slides have been in dark storage for decades. I believe at the time I was using Fujichrome. The local lab in San Francisco could develope overnight; - Kodachrome had to be sent to Kodak. Was it re-colorized? Looks a lot more dynamic than film.
The YouTube vid looked like a lot of work - haunting music with a beatBacklit w fillflash (again)
Been out filming instead of "shooting" it's fun, but takes it's toll doing everything alone. It took me 14h straight to film approx. 7 minutes of material.
