It's been really hot so how about a cold pic? Cold day (-20F) on Denali's Karsten's Ridge.

I got PM'd by someone asking about the temperatures we encountered and other questions. It was about -20F when I took this pic, the coldest we had was -37F on my minimum temp. thermometer. We went in on April 1 as we landed on Wonder Lake and wanted to cross the McKinley River when it was frozen; also, earlier weather is usually more settled. Unfortunately, it wasn't that year and it took us 32 days to cross over the top and do a traverse out the other side of the mountain. We were a small private party, all highly experienced (including Everest & Makalu in the group), and had a blast. We saw nobody else on the mountain for 29 of the days we were in there.

.. this practice was available in Puerto Vallarta during our stays ... never got to talking to anyone who actually tried it, but have read some good & bad reviews of results. It was 'no thanks' for us. On a personal note: I did enjoy some light "nibbles" of my feet much more naturally when wading amongst fishes in rocky-beach tidepools in Guadeloupe on a number of occasions. :)
