If I didn't put the EXIF information I can bet you would never know I had used an APS-C lens.

Don't get me wrong, they're great photos, I'm always keen to know what gear the photos have been taken with which is why I queried the exif info. I was surprised that you used probably the cheapest EF-S lens for your conversion when you could have used a much better one.

Using a 'better' lens to presumably take 'better' photos is incredibly speculative.

I wanted to DIY a super wide for cheap as an experiment, I saw the potential of using the 18-55 on my 6d, the modification took maybe an hour and beyond a vignette when at its widest, it works perfectly.

One of my other experiments involved modifying a vintage 1960s rangefinder lens to work with my 60d (and now modified again for the 6d). You can view those photos here.
