Slow Roll
A weekly bike ride through the city of Detroit during the warm weather months with 3000+ riders. All ages and skill levels (kids, grandmothers, etc.) and bike types (recumbent, dirt, really tall, etc.), and a few people from other places (I rode next to a group speaking German for quite awhile). Many bikes are tricked out (it is Detroit!) and the music people play (on Beats Pills or full up speakers) is definitely old school (lots of 70's and 80's funk, R&B, and techno). There's no hiding the city's plentiful warts or its hidden gems as you slowly ride through the city. It's been more than 25 years since I've lived there but it will always be home to me.
