Yes indeedy! The lens' maiden voyage and the first of many walks the lovely 100-400mm and I will be taking around the lake and other places together.... This will be an excellent walk-around lens, and although it's heavy, it's not as heavy as the 200-600mm and is easier to handle for that reason. It's just slightly heavier than my 135mm so I knew it would be a good fit for me, as I've taken the latter on walks around the lake with me and it's been fine.

The Bazooka is better suited to using with a tripod, and really isn't a walking-around type lens. I am looking forward to when the Wimberley WH 200 II gimbal that I ordered arrives; that will be very useful for both lenses, although I plan to handhold the 100-400 most of the time. I had intended to get the Wimberley at the store yesterday but they were out of them, unfortunately.

I popped this into the weekly challenge thread also. I actually didn't even originally see that there were two in the frame until after I looked at my camera back.

I probably should have used my macro lens, but my camera was already outside with me with the long lens on, so I just rolled with it. Taken with the Sigma 150-600 at 600mm. ISO 6400 | f/6.3 | 1/1250

Still at the disused quarry, this time very close to the illicit crop growing in deep undergrowth with the odour of Woodstock surrounding us. The more I think about it the more I'm sure that the two 'good ol' boys' who chased us off were there to protect their agricultural interests, rather than protecting the site from vandalism or such.

Anyway, here's a perrty flutterby for you!
