Exactly! Just above Black's Beach at the top of the cliffs and on the west side of the UCSD campus is the Torrey Pines Gliderport. I'll post a photo of some of the gliders above the cliffs today. There's even a viewing platform at the edge of the cliffs. That's where I was when I took this photo. No idea if the viewing platform or the gliders were there when you lived here. The ankle-breaking trail down to the beach is still there, though!Is that taken from the cliffs above the beach. It's been several years but I have been to Black's beach many times. I went to one of my Navy photography schools in San Diego back in 1982. Used to be Miramar Naval Air Station, it is now a Marine Corp Air Station.

very pretty! and I can see the owl. how fun!'Canadian Thistle' -- a species of thistle observed on a 'Monument Trail' walk, EC Manning Provincial Park, BC (July/20). For me, the top flower resembles a small owl.
