Ceanothus Victoria or California lilac, : I like the blue flowers and the honey scent that attracts so many bees and bumblebees

Lighting is just perfect. Alfred is a great model, even posing on one leg
Thank you! Yes, Alfred is most obliging, and it was so thoughtful of him to find a spot to relax right across the lake from me! I grabbed the camera and went out to shoot photos of him while still being able to remain in the shade of my deck, which was most welcome this hot day.

It's funny how herons do that: stand on one leg for surprisingly long periods of time. The Black-Crowned Night Heron I posted here a few days ago was doing that, too.

Ford Town & Country sedan with a Country Squire wagon in the background, Savoy Auto Museum
Oh, boy, does this bring back memories!!! My parents had a green Country Squire "Woody" Station Wagon when I was growing up. That car was great for everything: long trips, hauling stuff around, etc. This was long before the era of seat belts and all that, and sometimes when we had someone else with us in the car, say my grandparents, I would ride in the very back, in the cargo area. I guess that would not be allowed today.

Same here (although it had the veneer covering instead of a real wood exterior like these). The 70's model our family had with a big V8 was perfect for hauling a camper or boat trailer. I spent many an hour riding around in had the sideways facing foldaway seats in the cargo area. I can recall it having lap belts (which were never used) but no other safety equipment. Good times for sure.

My folks didn't have one of these , however my uncle did , and we used to frequently go on trips with him and my aunt and cousin . Us 2 kids got to sit in the 3rd row seat , which faced backward , thereby allowing us brats to make faces at the folks in the cars behind us .
The car in the front of the picture is actually a late 40's/early 50's Chrysler . IIRC they had an early kind of disk brake that did not have a good reputation .

📡 📶 Radio Tower, San Francisco, Bay Area, California 📡 📶

This is one of the most complex repack antenna designs, due in large part to the strict earthquake code that applies to antennas that are installed in the Bay Area.

The towers primarily serve public safety radio systems used by police and firefighters. The towers also serve other City agencies, such as MUNI, the SF Public Utilities Commission, and the Department of Technology. In addition, an FM radio transmitter is operated from the tower under a license held by the San Francisco Unified School District. Both towers are intended to continue serving public safety and public service operations.

A visit yesterday to the 16th century Upnor Castle, built to protect Chatham Naval Dockyard on the River Medway from those pesky Dutch.
When the Dutch fleet arrived not a shot was fired, and the dockyard was slightly destroyed ;)
