.. an early-morning floral greeting during a local walkabout this week ... the orange-yellow coloured flowers, green leaves, early-morning lighting, and dark background, caught my attention.
I visited Nankin Lake (Wayne County, MI) early this morning to take some pictures, and just as I was about to leave, a green heron perched on a log. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to adjust my camera settings properly, but the shot still turned out pretty good. I never realized how small Green Herons are until I saw it flying and initially mistook it for an ordinary bird. Nature has certainly equipped this bird well for protection, as its small size and ability to blend into the background make it difficult for predators to spot.
And now we are happy to present as they make their first appearance together on this lake, the fabulous new group The Four Cormorants, featuring Monty!
At the steps of the National Theater in Taipei before an evening performance. Shot with a Nikon F4 on Lomography CN800 film, developed and scanned at home.
