Anyway here is another of Himley Hall. I like the repetition of the trees. I had to do quite a bit of PP to lose the people, bins and benches etc.

Comments always appreciated.

I thought some of that water needed cropping as it wasn't adding anything to the pic. I took a smudge off each side also, to bring the quartet of trees to the edge of the pic on the left, leading the eye to the house, and removing the bit of tree that was peeping in on the right hand side.

This is of course only my opinion, and I can be a bit ruthless with the crop tool, as the world doesn't always conveniently fit onto the shape of our sensors.

Agree the water wasn't adding anything. I would have been happier if it was calm with a nice reflection going on, but this place is quite local to me and it is never like that there.
I don't think I have changed the aspect ratio of a photo when cropping. Something I'll have to consider.
Thanks for taking the time to critique.

Very fortunate to get another Snowy Owl yesterday.

Awesome as ever!

I haven't shot much in a while as I've been under the weather. Here's a snap I took last night whilst waiting for my dog to do his business in the garden. It's not great as my longest lens is a 135mm so this is heavily cropped.

Thank you... Taken a couple of minutes after yesterday's shot... just turning round to shoot into the sun...

This is absolutely gorgeous! Love the colours, the placements, everything!

This is stunning! If you'd taken a picture with a bird of any other colour it wouldn't have had nearly the same impact, but the colour of the bird's wing is the same as that of the ice and snow below it and the white bird, the white snow and the washed out sky all enhance each other. Even the placement of the bird is good! That takes a practiced eye and quick reflexes!!

an hour shy of 24hours since my last POTD post

you've never really done everything photographically unless you've uselessly, and ineffectively, light painted a subject

now I can move on with other things

Something a bit different. It works for me. I think you are too hard on yourself.
