Lovely bokeh, the flowers really stand out, and you've nailed that little bee.

Thanks -- was trying different angles, looking for a dark background with interesting highlights to shoot the flowers against, when the bee decided to join the scene. It only stayed long enough for me to grab the one shot.

I presume the far swan isn't actually inside that boat? Great effect though - would make a good caption contest.

BTW I love these swan shots - the first one is a perfect combination of colour and composition, and the water surface on the second one is beautiful.

Doylem, MacRy, Ish, Apple fanboy and Rowbear…thank you all for the great comments about my Snowy Owl shot. That one is now my current favorite.

I never thought I would miss the bitter cold weather but this winter season (our coldest in a long time) has presented great opportunities to photograph owls. I've had a grand time chasing-down sightings but sadly (sad for me not the owls), the Snowys will soon be heading north back to the Arctic.

Sad for all of us - you've shared some incredible shots here.

A bit different from your usual.

Was it a planned shoot or just bit of fun?

This is from an event in Houston called Hot Import Nights. I do a few of these events a year and just catch the car models as they pass by (or I pass by them) in a quick "street style" portrait shot. It's literally run and gun for 5 hours.

For this one, I used someone's backdrop (I use the side they weren't on so they wouldn't notice me using it ) to catch some off flash portrait photography, in a Terry Richardson style portrait (I think I missed the mark, however, but I liked what I got). I challenged myself to shoot all manual, including flash.

My X-E2 got a work out that day and it held its own. Went through 2 batteries and over 700 shots and that's the most work I've put it through in one day since I purchased it. I loved that camera. I put the stuff on Flickr so the models can grab their shots. I'll whittle it down to the best of the best in a couple of weeks.

This shot was my favorite of the night.

Another beautiful shot. I prefer the other one, but would be proud to say I had taken either.

Very nice. Simple but affective.

Did you remove/mod the IR cut off inside your Nikon to take this shot? I've always loved IR photography, but never actually been able to talk to anyone that's done it.

Yes, it is a modded D80. I used to have a modded D60 before that, but it succumbed to injuries after a kayaking incident. :)

I don't use it a whole lot, but sometimes it's just the thing. I have a set with all my IR shots on my Flickr page, if you're interested. PM me if you have any questions ;)

Taken in my front drive this weekend. Beautiful flowers, but less than pretty location, so went up close to cut out the noise.

Comments always welcome.

Hi FB! I would prefer it if a bit more of the centre was in focus. Also, if you moved slightly to the right or down it would hide the black area on the left. Or you could clone it out. What is it? Maybe a Magnolia?
