This is a different edit (far different) of a photograph I posted a while back. Given the history and tragedy of this building, it's a fitting (and fun) edit:

Photo of the day : March 2014

Another business trip to London today. Here's Blackfriars station.

Flickr has done a nice job of trashing the post procedure out. Here is what I've been able to figure out so far.

In your PhotoStream, click the image you want to post, then select the Share icon on the right side of the page. Select the "Pin" icon and pick a descent post size, then copy the text from the box. Paste it directly into the Reply to Post box and you are done. Clicking the image will link to your original image on Flickr. That's the best I can do for now.

An old shot to show this works.

Agree. Although post 508 sums it up pretty well.

It's not a particularly good photo, but it does mark a significant moment for me.

I haven't posted here or on my blog in a few weeks due to my life suddenly changing. My girlfriend gave up driving a few weeks ago and moved out of the truck, she took a job in Richmond, Va, I live in Seattle.

Once she quit I found out the hard way that this company doesn't care at all about it's solo drivers. I've been sitting in Salt Lake with a broken truck for seven days now and they refuse to pay for a hotel or breakdown pay. As I write this, my dad is coming down here to get me and move me back home.

I have one last hope for a good job in this industry and if it doesn't go through then I'm done with this industry. I've given 10 years of my life to it and just can't seem to find a company that actually understands that drivers are people, not numbers.

Either way, once I get home I'm moving to Richmond so I can save the relationship with my girlfriend. I don't have a job or a place to live when I get there, but she makes me far happier than anything else in my life so somehow, someway it'll work out...

No doubt recovery would have been quicker if you had a trailer of valuable goods attached !
All the best for you and your girlfriend :)

Cheers :)

That's a sad tale Lumberman. Whenever the economy is struggling there are always some companies that forget the human aspect of their penny-pinching ways. I hope you find a solution that brings you happiness and a solid foundation for your relationship to prosper.

John, I wish you the best and easiest outcome to this life challenge. Stand tall and know that many of us whom admire your strength and resolve are wishing well for you. May Peace, Love and clarity fill your life. Be like the cat and land on your feet! ;)

Yes indeed. I'm starting a piano tuning, repair, and restoration business this summer. It's becoming a lost art, at least in my neck of the woods.

Good luck with the new venture. Hope you still get plenty of photography time in.

Battling a flu bug has given me some time at home to catch-up on processing some of the back-log.

So much better than his female counterpart. Both great photos though.

I feel/know your pain. Can't say I know of any trucking company that "really cares" and doesn't treat you as a #. Life on the road is not "romantic" as protrayed in movies or in radio commercials by the trucking companies. It's hard work and lonely. To the public, you are invisible until they come up behind you on a hill while you are hauling 40k and are just barely making 40mph. Think the 4wheelers will let you in coming off a on ramp, not a chance. That's life for a trucker, just make sure that you get that load to Wally World on time so those goodies make it to the shelves in time for the holidays. My .02, try working intermodal. Doesn't pay as well and it's hard work and long hours BUT you're home nitely and if you're lucky you might get weekends off. JB Hunt is big in intermodal as is Orange Pumpkins. Swift is also there but they don't seem to have company intermodal drivers(least in my area), lots of contractors. Hubb is another player. Not sure if Richmond area is a big intermodal area but if they have a rail there's probably some action. Best of luck and keep us posted.
