1.3 second exposure, blurring the couple on the left. The spots on this image are light flare, which the Tokina 11 - 16mm lens was known for.

Fantastic effect to it. Lovely dreamy hazy glow to it. Very nicely done
Thanks @kenoh It was one of those, I wonder... shots. It wasn't till I returned home that I saw it worked out even better than I imagined.

Thanks. I was trying to do what Kenoh did in post 58. One of the posts I tried to quote had two images in it and I think the forum software forced that to links. Your "this" link won't work for me, but I'm stuck on a spare HP Windows laptop as the graphics card in my old MacBook Pro quit. Still a few months away from replacing it.

Dale

The link led to post 20 in the weekly contest "Frame Within a Frame". It's very similar to the one you mention. I'm afraid I've no idea why yours should be forced to links as I just used the multi quote and 'insert quotes' buttons. Maybe some guru can help!

I used to be a Tech Jedi, but all this "ease of use" has me stumped.

Reminds me of our local library. Everything used to be ordered according to classification but since they've started taking some subjects out and shelving them separately to make them "easier to find" I can't find a thing!

In a coffee shop.
Haven't taken any pics lately so I thought I'd post a picture of one of mine that has been used in a promotional guide for St Albans Cathedral that was released this week.

I'm now a published photographer ;)

I visited the cathedral a few weeks back on my lunch break and took some photos then felt guilty that I didn't have any cash on me to leave the suggested £5 donation for the upkeep of the building so I sent them the photos and said if they felt they were any good they could use them. They emailed me back and said that they wanted to use that one for their quarterly what's on guide and that they'd credit me in the picture. They also used it on their Twitter feed.

It's only a pamphlet but I liked the fact that someone other than me gets to see one of my photos :)

Thanks Alex. Even though they cropped it! :)

Cheers AFB.

I love the irony that I'm an atheist too :)

Lovely picture, @MacRy, and what a wonderful story to go with it. Well done and congrats.

Unfortunately not my car, but one can dream...

Yes, one can dream. For my part, I have long harboured an insane love affair for old cars, ever since I saw "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" as a child.

Same place as last one I posted, just later in the evening. Was hoping for a decent sunset but it didn't happen. Comments always appreciated.

Love the 'blue hour' and love water reflections and urban shots, so it ticks many of my boxes.

This is a Morgan, MAKE SPACE!!!

Agree.

There is no room , got a '61 MGA getting reassembled in one part of the garage and my '73 MG Midget in the other . Maybe I'll just run out and by the used 35 'lux a local shop has . At least that'll neutralize one Acquisition Syndrome for a while . Probably lot's cheaper than the Mog , too

Get the 35mm Summilux; I have one and it is a superb lens, and practically lives on the camera.

Re the Midget and the MGA, well, what can I say, other than enjoy them…..

Lol! Buy the 35 anyway, you will need it for the photos when the MGA is done...

But the +4... Handbuilt, my brother in law went to the factory couple months ago to see them being built... If only I had spare cash...

:-(

Agree re your advice on the lux; outstanding lens - and these days, almost the only one I use.

And yes, for photos of old cars, somehow it looks right and the pictures will come out superbly….

Don't torture yourself.
Have you ever been in a Morgan in the rain? It smells like a wet tent, 1 of your legs gets hot from the drive shaft, the other gets wet from water getting from unexplainable holes near the wheel. It's noisy.

But I can see the joy when it's sunny, driving through the British countryside.

On the three dry days a year, nothing beats it, agreed. It is a kind of romantic fantasy with which we torture ourselves, an unattainable ideal. I even find myself drooling over convertibles in the 'used car' sections, and then administering the mental equivalent of a stern and robust kicking on my mental shins.

I was actually fixated on a Caterham until I saw the Morgan, but as I can't afford either I shall drive dry in my 15 year old Yaris for a little longer.

Cheers :)

Hugh

Bravo.

Yep. My dads pal had one when I was young. He called it Geoffrey. He got a Caterham after that. I think they are definitely a clement weather driver so second car only and they are still built by hand on wooden templates but such fun to be in though I imagine a knightmare to own.

A nightmare, yes, like a demanding and temperamental and high maintenance lover or mistress. And you then have to ask yourself, do the few minutes of pure unadulterated joy compensate for the many hours and days of nail biting infuriating frustration? The answer can be kept under lock and key in the innermost recesses of your heart.

Really interesting car BUT think wood rot or termites. Don't know for sure but it's probably got Lucas electrics too.

Probably.

Another little taster...

Photographed sitting next to his sleeping mother...

Mate, don't go there! I am worried he hides on the rug and she trips on him! I lifted the rug today and put it away as yes, not enough contrast.

Other than a new little patch that is more yellow than the rest. Wee monkey marked his territory!

I have had that new puppy smell on me all day... This is going to be interesting.

My wife/we have a Bichon... they really are adorable little dogs, although ours is on the large side.

They are used for therapy I believe.

Lovely! Great lead-in from the water's edge and the low angle light giving details in the sand.

Mother in law got a new little pal last night. A gorgeous little 8 week old Bichon Frise. Negotiations are under way about his name but Olaf seems to be leading the lists right now!

I was just going to comment how he matches the rug but you near enough beat me to it!
