Nice water, pity the clouds didn't cooperate. Would be a great spot to get back to for a colour version at sunset/twilight as the natural/artificial light is playing together. How's the colour cast for it? They are reputed to be quite red.Shot this today of the Newport bridge. Sony A7RIII, Zeiss Batis 85mm @f/11, ISO 100, 15 stop ND filter with an exposure time of 91 sec. Focus was set manually on the big rock in the foreground without the filter attached. Obviously on a sturdy tripod with a remote release.
The sharpness is kind of wonky throughout the frame with the nearest tower blurred though object nearer and farther away are sharp. It's not a lens issue or a technique issue--I have to blame the ND filter. It's a Singh-Ray filter which isn't cheap, but sharpness is really wonky for no obvious reason. Things that should be in the plane of sharpness aren't. Not field curvature as the lens doesn't have this and my copy of the lens doesn't either. A 10 stop ND filter didn't show this behavior. Hard to imagine that the bridge itself was moving during the exposure as the pattern of spotty sharpness doesn't relate to structural elements.
I'm curious, where is this and what type of ponies/horses are these?
Despite the fact that nearly all of the snow has melted away I still got pictures!

Nice photo.
From the last Nor'easter...Two feet of snow brought down two tall shrubs in my backyard.
Man, I hate when that happens, the two feet of snow and the bringing down of trees and shrubbery. We had five Leland cypress trees come down during Snowmageddon in our backyard and the two holly trees in our front yard have never really recovered. We're probably should take them out. I worry about that shrub there in your picture, hopefully it bounces back.
Night Sky Reflections, Galloway Dark Sky Park the other night.

Here's another word that the MR swearbot never picks up.I know! yet bastard gets through!!!
Here's the demolition of our local power station chimney - building started in 1963 and it was taken out of commission a couple of years ago.
My grandfather was actually one of the draughtsmen on the build, and I remember him taking me round the site as a young child.
This is the colour version of a pentaptych I thought would give a good record of the explosion. It was a murky day and the light was truly horrible; I'm not sure which came out best so I'll share the black and white version tomorrow.

LEICA!
Look it's only one of your camera brands! I think you've owned them all haven't you?Nice...
Do you have a shot of the chimney before explosion, so you could pre-pend it and append a shot without it in?

Probably some more.
I'd love to see you explaining to Mrs Kenoh why you must get a Phase one or Hasselblad! Good luck with that one!
You really are the camera (owner) king!It is exactly like Game of thrones isnt it? and it was a lesson in why it is always good to have the telephoto lens with you at all times! first shot with a normal lens and the trees looked too thin and spaced out...
Sigma? - DP1 briefly
Nikon - Got a FM SLR sat on my shelf right now... and tried a D300 when it was the one...

Just think if you hadn't got into photography you could be driving round in a 911!
