I'm going there April 3rd! Got any tips to share?

Keleko, definitely paying for the photography tour is worth it. I used Antelope Canyon Tours. Obviously, a tripod and a wide angle lens are musts. Bring only one lens or two cameras if you want to bring a second lens. Too much dust puts sensors at risk if changing lenses while in there. I did Upper Canyon. Lower canyon does NOT allow tripods and has ladder steps to climb up and down and my knees told me not to go there! But I'm an old fart. My wife went on the regular tour while I took Photography tour #2. It lasts longer and is solely for serious photographers. Any other questions PM me. Oh, Horseshoe Bend is under construction so during the day you have to take a bus there but after 6PM you can go there and park for sunset shots. The buses stop at 6PM and run every half hour.

Was going through some pictures from last year and wanted to share this one. It was taken last summer at the Bronx Zoo.

I'll second the suggestion for the Photo tours . I was at Antelope Canyon a few years back and took one . Well worth the money . Did Lower Canyon , too . The ladder in wasn't bad , but going out , there's stairs . Think climbing several stories .The saving part is there's landings . I , too ,am an old fart with bad knees and was hurting after I climbed out . The passage in Lower is much tighter . There's one or 2 spots where I had to get through sideways . NOT for the morbidly obese .

I've already booked a photo tour for Upper Canyon. I didn't sign up for Lower, though, mostly due to time. I may reconsider when I get there if there are still openings available. It will depend on what else we plan to do while there. I want to be at Horseshoe Bend for sunset, too.

Speaking of sunsets...

Try and squeeze in Lower , if you can . It's very different than Upper . Less crowds , too . When I was there a few years back , in mid June , I just drove up , parked , gave the guys my money and hung out for a bit until some other folks came along , then a kid took us in . Inside for around and hour , was pretty laid back . At that time there was only one , or maybe 2 tour operators that did Lower . Hopefully that hasn't changed , hate to see the experience trashed by the tour bus crowds.
