Coming from the proverbial windmill country, this construction looks weird. Is there a prevaling wind, otherwise the tower will block the wind.
Or is it a folly and never used in production?
The windmill that you’re seeing in that picture, is completely revamped. It’s actually motorized now, but prior to its reconstruction, it was a ‘standard’ windmill that was fully functional with the original clock tower, but was rendered inoperable, because of its aging state. (The original windmill was over 200 years old.) It was like a ~$4 million project to completely overhaul the windmill (Adding in brick fortifying with the clock), it was slated to be torn down, but the community wanted to see it remain, as it’s a piece of historical architecture, and the money was raised to bring engineers from across the world to actually work on this project. It Took approximately two years for the project to be completed, because some of the parts that were needed, actually had to be sent overseas.
