Another wide field shot. This is the belt and sword from the Orion constellation at 200mm (Canon 70-300mm). The three main stars are the familiar constellation's 'belt'. If you know what to look for, there are a four nebulae (just) visible: from left to right Great Orion, Running Man, Horsehead and Flame. To be honest, to say you can see the Horsehead is a bit of a stretch...Only 15-minutes of exposure but I will need to wait until next winter to do a better job since Orion is getting low in the sky here.

Nice capture, do you use some sort of tracking device on your tripod?

Cheers @dimme. For that sort of focal length and only 30-second exposures, a basic tracker (eg Star Adventurer Mini in my case) does the job. Not too expensive, portable but limited capacity in terms of load. Good fun. Light pollution limits the exposure times so makes the tracking less critical.

What kind of a bird is he? A blue heron? I’m not good at identifying birds other than the garden variety.

I keep seeing a large (3’??) blue gray bird along the stream of my daily walk but never with a real camera. I assume it’s a blue heron but not really sure.
Yes, Alfred is an Immature Great Blue Heron (GBH) and he has been around here for the past couple of years, maybe longer. These birds tend to be solitary, and they like to hang out in areas where they can wade in the water and snare their prey. They'll eat small birds and frogs, too, along with fish, if they're hungry.

What for you was the reason for taking this shot? What do you want to emphasize in the image? If it is the sky, then perhaps it would be better to darken and throw the whole foreground part into silhouette and perhaps also crop some of it away as well. Definitely get rid of the small lights that are shining here-and-there, as they are visually distracting, being lighter than their surroundings. At least, that's what I would do....
