I posted a night shot of this same area back in Nov or Dec. Here's the same area in weather thats much more pleasant.

I'm guessing somewhere in Montreal (or quebec?).. That building was in Blades of Glory!

I'm also pretty sure Montreal and it was used in my Art History class (and book) for it's architectural concept and design. Again it was brought up several times in design class at Buffalo State College so it's nice to see it surface here as well (I should find that book and re-read/study it again).

Kevin, your photos rock!

Thanks, it really means a lot.

I love the tones in this set of pictures.
Did you ever get the poster for the wagon race finished I would be really interested in seeing the end result.

Thanks and no we are still trying to schedule a time to shoot the mini chuckwagon being pulled by the horses. It was suppose to happen last weekend but we had snow and rain. Luckily I ended up going down a few days later instead to take photos for my folks and brother (better than horse photos any day)

First pict from the new D300 that UPS dropped off this afternoon. Well ok, the 5th. Just a quick off the cuff shot to see if it would write to the card. Severely cropped, just a little adjustment on the levels & downsized. Now if the SB 800 Speedlight will get here. Now there's a 400+ page manual I have to dig into.

Apple trees are blossoming nicely so I took out my little point and shoot. I love taking pictures of bees. And the next one is a climbing rose we got my mom for mothers day

Where the mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea

Great shot. Very atmospheric. But, looking at the larger version, there seems to be a lot of noise/grain. I've had this a few times with long exposures, but not always... and I don't really understand why this should be. Anyone know why this is a problem on some occasions... but not others?

Thanks for the comments Doylem.
The original image was quite a bit bigger, it was shot on the Leica in 16:9 format and then cropped quite severely. I agree that shots taken at that time of day lead to more noise than we would like. ... :)
