Back to a zoo pick for today. For most of the shots I took I was careful to try to exclude elements that made it obvious the animals were in a zoo. For this one, I think the inclusion of the fence added something to the image. Sad little monkey.

Hey! A local! I know that beach all too well! You down there a lot?
Here's one from the same beach, shot last weekend.

I honestly wish I was a local! I would spend a lot more time at Corona Del Mar if that were the case. But alas, I'm stuck on the east coast. My image was taken from a vacation out to SoCal a few weeks ago.

I have almost the same shot as you posted as well! I hope you frequent that beach, but I could probably spend a whole week there finding different compositions there.

I do hang out at that beach as well as Newport Beach whenever I want to shoot ocean sunsets. They're both a 20 minute drive away.
Lots of opportunities to shoot there. If you look at my Flickr page, you'll probably see a fair number of CDM compositions.

I'd like to get out to the east coast one of these days. I've always lived where the ocean is to the west and therefore, apt for sunset. The very thought of the sun rising from the ocean feels weird to me. Hehe.

I recognise Whitby, but wouldn't a little PP open up the shadows a bit?

Hey, Doylem!

Thanks, yeah! Good spot! I'm actually in Whitby at the moment (took that photo last night) - just in the hotel room (girlfriend is taking an age to get ready) so I did have a little play with the image and uploaded it! I will have another play with it and open up the shadows like you said, when I get home! Watch this space! :D

Another picture from Senja in Northern Norway.
Exellent place for fishing sea trout, and salomon that waits for before they migrate up the rivers to spawn.

Great place Whitby - with some fantastic photo ops when the bi-annual Goth weekends are on. Took the liberty of lightening up your pic (and shaved a bit of dead sky off). Hope you like it..

This is just a precursory visit to this shot, checking if my imaginings had merit. It needs several exposures to get the best overall image, so I'll be back during the week to grab them.

Quirky zoo pic

Last day of the month, so going to include a "bad" pic I took at the zoo that is really a snap shot.

When I first got to the rhino exhibit, the male was "humping" the ground. Because of the barriers in the exhibit I wasn't sure I wanted to shoot it. Changed my mind and took this after the fact. Was *very* interesting to hear the reaction of all the children present:

"What is THAT daddy?"
"It's a rhino"
"I know it's a rhino, what is THAT?"
"Go ask your mother"

"That is gross"

"What IS that thing?"

<Random snickering and stereotypical comments from older girls and boys that were present>

Looks about normal size for me:D

A flower from my garden. I have actually been out today though, so expect some different locations later this week.

This was taken post-tumescence. Fully erect the penis extended close to his front shoulders. I *really* wish in hindsight I had just shot it and not been thinking about how the composition sucked.

What a beautiful house

Thanks .... Wish it was mine ..... On second thought , no I don't , couldn't imagine trying to maintain and clean a vintage monster like that . Got enough problems with my 90 year old money pit . The house is the Walther House , on the grounds of the Presby Memorial Iris Gardens . Went to see the irises and then my partner saw the magic sign 'Gift Shop' , her female shopping gene was activated and into the house we went . Give her credit,though... she waited for me to get this shot after we left .
