Cascade. I went to the plant store today. Didn't buy this one, but bought a bunch of others! I felt a little weird shooting flowers I wasn't buying, but I figure at almost $200 spent there, I was okay. ;)

I think I need to move to (or at least visit) Scotland!

Nice! My lavender hasn't bloomed yet, but has a ton of buds. I like the big fat French kind like you have, but am always worried it won't last through a winter here.
I see a lot of people shooting at garden centres, but I've never done it myself.
I bought the lavender last spring. After years of neglect we started doing a bit in the garden.

It almost felt summery a couple of days ago.....today not so much.

I don't recall it being bad in the first place!
Nice.

Last day?
Nearly, just this evening and two more shifts at the weekend, but they are being spent emptying my locker and shredding 40 years of crap.

Cheers :)

Congrats Hugh! I'm 6 weeks into retirement and loving it. Stress disappeared overnight, I've got travel plans, our garden is looking the best it has in years, I'm sleeping well for the time since I can remember...what's not to like.

Enjoy Hugh,
Peter

I am sat here green with envy! Still a long to go for me and two daughters to subsidise so maybe longer than I know!

Enjoy every minute. You have earned it twice over I imagine

The flip side is that I'm old and feel it more in my bones and whatever muscle is left every day. Enjoy your youth AFB and never wish it away.

Hugh, disregard this comment...it's b.s. anyway. :)
Lol. Had my monthly session at the chiropractor this morning. In agony tonight as I shifted too many boxes at work.
Not enjoying my youth. Btw I'm in my mid 40's!

Another pic of the Goat Island lighthouse that I took earlier this month. I've been going back-and-forth with this one as I kind of like the trees on the left of the frame, but I have a niggling feeling that the composition is a bit unbalanced as a result of including them. I took other shots where I didn't include them, creating more negative space on the right. But as I was looking over this series again I took a second look at this shot (a friend of a friend is getting married next month at the spot I took this and my friend asked for a pic to have framed as a wedding present--this is one of two that she really liked).

Only mid 40's?

Tsssk. Kids.

In dutch you'd be called a 'snotnose'

Mid 40's, I was thinking the same thing oblomow...just a young pup. Mid 40's seems like a long time ago. The only thing longer is the hair that's now growing out of my ears and nose instead of my head.

Yeah it's been a while huh! Thanks! Figured my photography's improved enough to start posting back here again!

Proportionately as near perfect as makes no odds.

Would love a touch richer in the foliage; but a lovely image for all that.

Regards. Sharkey
