Location:
19px-California_1.svg.png
Big Sur, Monterey County, California.

Bixby Bridge, on the Big Sur coast of California, is one of the most photographed bridges in California due to its aesthetic design, "graceful architecture, and magnificent setting." It is a reinforced concrete open-spandrel arch bridge.

Ever wondered what it looks like from the backside of the Bixby bridge?

This view contains the backside of the Bixby Creek Bridge. Along with a glimpse of the North Pacific Ocean. It is purely marvelous, with Breathtaking views. 🎑

Storsjön, Viskafors, Borås, Sweden, September 9th 2012.

This is today an impossible picture. Ordinarily, since more than a hundred years ago, the brook and grass you see is a lake bed. The lake shore can be discerned by the cliff. But that year the dam went under repair, so the water body was absent for the whole of the summer and early autumn. In that short period of time, the brook took its old course, and the land was reclaimed by annual plants. Moreover, old structures could be seen; roads, house grounds, bridges, wells, and old tree stumps (the latter producing fungi!).

I got the cutest little half frame camera last week, so I ran a roll of bw through it and home developed it to make sure it works. It has some quirks, and apparently some random light leaks (not sure why they are only on some frames and not others)...the meter only works sporadically so I have to meter with a phone app. But it's super fun. I plan to partially share it with my daughter when we go on vacations (I shoot a frame, she shoots a frame) and otherwise use it for diptychs, which will require a lot of planning (aka remembering what I last shot).

That looks like a great project! If you're planning on presenting images side by side, like above, do you have to plan your photos to shoot the one on the right first?

Enjoy!

No, the left one is still the first one on the roll. But since I scan them individually, I can join them in photoshop (which is what I did here; these aren't even from the same location, and are a couple of shots apart on the roll).

Looks like a lot of fun. I've been doing some pinhole photography recently, just to get out of my own head a little, and try something that forces me to plan a photo differently.
