I'm parked behind a strip mall for the day and saw these shopping carts locked up.

Well, I just looked at all of the photos in this thread admiring all of the great work and talent. I just got my first DSLR over the weekend. Starting to mess around with settings and watching tons of videos on the basics and what everything means. One of the videos mentioned making sure to keep your shadow out of your pictures and BAM! guilty and proven in the picture below.

My first shot below are my two dogs Coco (chocolate lab) and Tatiana (boxer) in the backyard. I just rescued Tatiana from a shelter 2 weeks ago. I have had Coco since he was born.

Pete, one of your most impressive avian pics, and there have many. Fabulous feel to this one.

This led me to your gallery and I found this cat most interesting. Do you know anything about it? Obviously a cross something.

Many thanks for the kind comments, always appreciated.

The tiger you quoted is one of the inhabitants of the Isle of White zoo (in the UK), who are very active in the tiger conservation process.

This tiger is "Diamond", who is an Indian Tiger (Panthera tigris tigris). The distinctive colouration is probably because his parents carried the white gene.

You can read more about him -=HERE=-

My hat's off to you for the rescue of Tatiana, she's a beaut! And so is Coco. They'll make great subjects as you learn the ins and outs of your new camera... cheers.

My pup taking some time from our hike to sniff some flowers.

I just love this shot. Classic silhouette, and it conveys the pup's personality perfectly. I love that it's got the right amount of softness in the dog (maybe it's the fur...) to counter the silhouette against the light. In any case, it's a shot I get a smile out of every time I look at it.

I find that the peace sign/hand draw my eye away from the NoH8 text. The eyes immediately draw me in to her dilemma, but then I move not to the explanation why(NOH8), but instead to her hand, and then the tatoo which contrasts to the image of inocence portrayed. I do not find it as compelling as the first one.
