keep 'em coming Barry. I'm a Northern Ontario boy as well so I love seeing snaps of God's Country. I'm always tempted to bring my dslr, but i'm usually hunting and always afraid i'm going to miss a big buck b/c i'm taking a picture instead :)

Went for a shoot on Thanksgiving Evening in downtown Salt Lake City, the streets were essentially deserted, except for a few of the homeless who were out trying to brave the cold.

Erm... there's a bit of overlap (I can see the boat in two places at once...).

Absolutely love this picture Doylem. I keep meaning to capture a windfarm, but there aren't any near me. I've seen some on Maui and in California, but never had a camera with me at the time. Aside from the benefits of wind power from an ecological perspective (who can argue with "free" energy?), I find them very elegant and relaxing to view. Nice shot.

I guess I should throw in one more before the month closes out. This is an old one (from my honeymoon), but I just revisited it today and made some tweaks. So it's kinda new. Kinda.

^^^I can usually run on and on as to why I like a photo, but there is just some unique quality to the light and subject content of this shot that appeals to me. I like:cool:

^^^One of the better bits of abltract photography I have seen in a while. The colors and textures are very well captured here. I love the color palette and the cup sets everything off nicely. Another I like:cool:

Thanks for the kind comments Keebler and Dale... Northern Ontario is almost as pretty as NL. :) Here's one from Manitoulin.

Sat 11/28, the big fly South, these (or cousins) took off in 7 huge V squadrons about 5 hours earlier, too late to grab my T1i.

Later, about 5pm, I heard off in the distant quacking coming, grabbed the T1i.
These actually going northwest, so earlier they must have been practicing?

they were probably either heading away from water towards the farmers fields in the morning or back to the water at night to sleep.

they should be leaving soon enough.

Pete, one of your most impressive avian pics, and there have many. Fabulous feel to this one.

This led me to your gallery and I found this cat most interesting. Do you know anything about it? Obviously a cross something.

I like the tight shot, but the eye isn't in focus, which would make it better. The depth of field is so shallow at that distance, even at f/8, that the nostril is perfectly sharp at the expense of the eye. On a tight shot like that you might use a smaller aperture, since you don't have to deal with subject isolation and background... anyway, just a thought. :)
