Judging by what you post on here, I find that hard to believe. But yes images that are right in camera are my favourite as well.

Thanks for the vote of confidence AFB but I do take crappy shots. It's just that I'm the only one who sees them.

Parting with money in this way in Yorkshire? Wouldn't be that frivolous with cash in Scotland :)

Another waterfall of sorts. Comments always welcomed.

Well done anotherscotsman...great exposure.

Isn't the definition of a pro compared to an amerture photographer that they only show their best work?

Trouble is I'd never have anything to post!

Yes you got it all, diagonal lines, thirds, balance of light and dark, foreground element, pattern in the leaves, flow from upper right to bottom left. Well composed and interesting subject.

Nice. You nailed this one. Did you use an ND filter?

Thanks very much for everyone's comments, I'm pretty pleased with this one myself. It was pretty overcast and limited light so only a combination of iso100, f18 and a polarising filter got me to the 10sec or so exposure duration on this one. Polariser really brought out the colours on such a damp scene. Thanks again.

Another view of the same scene attached - it certainly pays to move around a bit.

Still nice, but I prefer the first one. The lower angle works better IMO.

AF - I'd certainly agree with you - as much as anything posted to follow from Hughmac's comments on composition and how IMHO you really have to wander around to see what actually works in every given scene. The first just looked right in camera perhaps because it followed the 'rules' - I suppose they are good guides because they work in many scenarios!

Catching some rays

Catching some rays of light in the park. Thought this was lovely. C&C welcome.
