Not a great photo, but a picture of the toys in my daughters room.
Today is her birthday.
Gone but not forgotten.

Photos are more about what they mean to you than about being works of art. My sympathies.

Here's an example of street photography - freezing fog day in Cheshire. Comments always appreciated.

Not sure I'd describe any of my photos as works of art. I like your street photography. Many times this sort of oldie world shot is ruined by a car in the back ground or a telegraph pole. But this scene could have been when it was built. The guy walking and the fog just add to the shot.

Cheers AFB. There are cars and poles at the far-end of the road but just hidden by the fog!

Trying out my new Sony 70-300 G2 lens....
A wee titmouse. Hard to capture as they are never still.

Great picture, that waterfall looks really familiar, where is it? I'm wondering if it's somewhere I've been.
It's Taughannock Falls , outside Ithaca N.Y. . Usually I'm up there visiting family over Thanksgiving and/or Christmas and sometimes we'll take a drive to the falls and walk in . It's a nice level walk in to the base , plus there's an overlook up top . I've posted pix of this place a couple of times , taken at different seasons and from different viewpoints .

Came across this snake today, at first it tried to slither away but then went into freeze mode when I went after it. I was able to get this close up shot of it with my iphone.
Found out later it is a Coluber najadum, a non poisonous bush snake.
This the closest I have ever been able to get to a live snake in the wild.

good catch!
when I encounter such a thing I either forgot my camera or are too late to take a shot.

In a coffee shop.
Harbor sunsets are nice, too.

Fantastic picture, crisp, clear wonderful atmosphere and traffic rendition of colour.

Getting to the watery sun period now - not a bad thing for a dour Scot...Comments always appreciated.

Well, I'm somewhat sympathetic by nature to that gloomy, morbid Celt worldview, as there is already more than enough of that in my DNA.

Really like the picture, though.

One more sunset ap-piers!

Ah, yes. Excellent.

That feels cold. Lovely shot.

This quaint and awesome little library is in Defuniak Springs, FL. Inside hanging on the walls is a nice ancient weapon collection featuring various old firearms, swords, axes, maces, crossbows and such. I didn't get any great pictures of the inside other than "here's a picture of some weapons". Googling for images of the Defuniak Springs Library will give you a sampling of some of the weapons there.

Church interior (situated off-left from the street scene I posted yesterday). Early 16th-century construction, a real gem. Although built of a nice red sandstone, it seemed to work better in B&W. Natural light, handheld. Comments always appreciated.

This is the pano version of the trees along the Tennessee road at daybreak. Not quite as ethereal as the first shot.

A work in progress DVD cover for a wedding.
Background photo has been grabbed from the web.
The couple is still very roughly masked and I haven't started light matching them. Photos were taking separately, specifically at their individual homes, by myself and my collaborator, hence the difference in lighting.

There is no direct translation to English for the title.
It roughly translates to: "The Night Out" (as in the whole night, suggesting partying)
The tag line reads: "because common ΤΙΝ numbers are not taboo."

TIN = Tax Identification Number.
Also, common marital TIN numbers in Greece are not applicable anymore once married, so it is an ironic commentary on this extinct tax office procedure.

Without further ado

I submitted this to the last weekly competition so I held off on putting in here. But now that's it's over, I'd love some feedback on it. With light being difficult (and short) this time of year in Scotland, I wanted to play with HDR/composites a little bit. I didn't want anything to look fake but just evening out the exposure. It's the first time I've ever really tried it.

In this one, the water was incredibly still so the reflections were stunning. I tried to make the photo as close to what my actual eye saw with 5 frames to make the composite. Constructive feedback is much appreciated!!
