Beautiful Nikon quality!
Stunning image! love it
That's a great shot. It looks like it could be a default wallpaper in macOS
autumnal monochrome ...

XT3 and XF55-200mm from last month recently processed.
Thanks for looking,

Still at the old lumberyards... I'll move on to elsewhere tomorrow. This transformer in a basement has been trashed by people & the room it's in has been filled with graffiti & debris. I still don't understand the desire to trash things or places just because they are abandoned or unused.

Nicely done. I have a glass ball, but it’s full of bubbles.Another from the archives....weather and other things just didn't make for time to shoot today.

Thanks! I have a crystal ball, fairly largish but not as large as the one in the photo, that I bought a few years ago and really haven't used all that much. I need to dig it out and experiment with it again. The one in the photo is courtesy of a fellow photographer down at the Tidal Basin in Washington, DC at Cherry Blossom time (early Springtime), when she brought along her crystal ball and set it up on her tripod and a stand so that we could all enjoy trying it out in that rather neat environment. I was reminded of this by a thread on another place where I hang out, NikonCafe, when someone posted about having bought "Lens Balls" and showing examples of what he could shoot with them. They seem to be smaller than most crystal balls I've seen or heard about and either have to be held in the hand, placed in a way that they won't roll off, or positioned on a stand. The larger, heavier crystal balls definitely need to be on a stand. It's fun playing with these things, although disconcerting that the image is upside-down!

reminds me of a long tradition of the greats.
your photo is SO Edward Weston.
just really beautifully done. thank you for posting this !
Thanks so much!
Edward Weston was an early photographic influence of mine and I even have an old well-read, pre-internet purchased copy of the Daybooks around here somewhere. I'll have to dig it out again. Eventually, I gravitated towards Brett's graphic abstract style.
Alas, the siren song of color photography stole my photographic heart in the end . I blame Ernst Haas .
Best,
Ed
hi redshifted,
the influence of Edward Weston is still very much in evidence in your photography.
thanks again for posting your work.
