That's a pretty cool fencepost idea, really. It will never rot like a wood post would, though the traditional t-post seems like it would be cheaper/easier!
Yeah it is quite ingenious, and even breathes a bit of interest into an otherwise boring landsape. Solid enough to stretch the wire really tight and greatly extend the distance between posts.

Western US and Canada we typically see wood posts. Regardless looking at the quantity of rock they were able to gather, it's quite possible that driving traditional posts to a sufficient depth would have been very difficult.
