Agathla Peak or Agathlan is a peak south of Monument Valley, Arizona, which rises over 1500 feet above the surrounding terrain. It is 7 miles north of Kayenta and is visible from U.S. Route 163. The English designation Agathla is derived from the Navajo name aghaałą́ meaning 'much wool', apparently for the fur of antelope and deer accumulating on the rock.

Thank you! This is a very intimate, closeup/macro shot of one of the pollen-laden anthers of a lily. I had edited the image in the usual way but didn't like it all that much and my eye kept being drawn to look at that dominating anther. Finally I decided, "OK, let's do a major crop!" and that made all the difference. Glad you like it!
Really cool. We have a guessing game show TV program in our country which makes people guess what the subject in a closeup photo is. Boring program, but I think I'll take a look again, as this photo is similar to those photos. Though, yours is truly excellent, with fantastic colours. And even with this tight crop is still seems so sharp, in focus.

I think I'll try to do similar shots...knowing too well I won't even come close to yours.

Thank you AFB! Good to hear from you. I had hoped to see you at The Photography Show but was still testing positive for covid so didn't come. I was disappointed. I didn't get it too badly and am ok now. How are you doing? 😊
Hope the Covid wasn’t too bad. TPS wasn’t great for us this year. Not as many people as usual. Then of course we had to close on the Monday.
Still work is keeping me busy. Not enough photography time as usual!
