God no. She'd kill me!
That's what I thought! LOL! Tsk, tsk.....

Seriously, though, at times I wonder when people here post images of strangers they've encountered somewhere or photos of their family members on the POTD or other threads whether or not they've gotten permission from the people depicted in the images, and/or if the subjects even realize that their photo (or perhaps one of their child) is going to appear on the wide-open internet.

MR, a web-based tech discussion forum (and one not with the same primary focus and intent as a social media site such as FB or a photo-oriented site such as Instagram), is pretty searchable via Google and other search engines.....

That depends if MR allows the search bots to crawl the threads and to what depth.

In this online digital age, as opposed to film days, people having a photo done of themselves are pretty savvy on the possibility of that image getting online. Of course there are exceptions based on the candid-ness of the image or mental makeup of the individuals being photographed

One more of the fall colors in southwestern Colorado, 2022.

Nice indeed. I think it ended up being a pretty nice and rather prolonged color season in Colorado this year. It's hard to say if there was a "peak" but there was a lot of great stuff, certainly in pockets (some of those pockets were big).

He's a banker who works in San Francisco's financial district. And for lunch he runs through the downtown, jumping over anything that's jumpable; trash cans, newspaper racks, walls, etc. No doubt in my mind he could jump over some cars.

For images taken in public in the usa, there is no expectation of privacy and no permission is needed unless it is for commercial use. And parents have ultimate say as to where their children's photos appear; I can't think of a single person I know who isn't aware of the risks and benefits of posting photos online.

I always ask my kids if I can post them because I want them to be in charge of their own digital footprint.

That’s what I do. If the subject is someone living that I know personally, I always ask permission. If it’s someone in the background or incidental in public, I don’t worry about it.

A couple of days ago I posted a photo of my grandmother and her sisters; they all passed years ago, so I just did it. I suppose I could have asked living cousins for permission.
