Trees are some of my favorite beings.View attachment 2118879
Photo taken spring 2011 in a beech forest.
I love the contrast between the dark tree trunk and the light green colors of the leaves. The best time of the year to enjoy this is in the spring.
I’m really looking forward to the spring!

You just know some beaver is going to pose with this as if he did it.From last summer before the province closed down lovely Chinook Lake to rework the roads and expand the parking.

Beavers have been criticized for years as being destructive. In actuality they are a very important part of natures balance. I watched a program about how they contributed to the restoration of the wetlands in one of our national parks after being hunted to near extinction. Their dams created ponds and marshes that had long since dried up, critical to many other species of birds, fish and small mammals. You just know some beaver is going to pose with this as if he did it.

What’s the name of the flower?
Growing up, our neighbor grew them... we called them "peppermint Lillies" because of the striping - they looked like peppermint sticks... no idea what the actual name is beyond the fact that it's definitely a lily of some sort. What a beautiful flower!
