She's excellent! And...if that's a "doodle", what she does when she's serious must be amazing :)!

Thanks!

She does a little of this, and a little of that. Sketching, oil painting, charcoal drawings, some ceramic stepping stones, wood scroll sawing animals, etc.

Here are some of her charcoal Jerry drawings from the old film cartoon series Tom and Jerry.

Edit: And the best part is when I show her some of my photos to get her opinion, she's not shy saying which ones suck. And that lets me know to never let anyone else see them. :)

Would like to see some of your wife's oils. My sister-in-law does oil/acrylic - she is working on plein air technique currently.

Just a walk-around image but...going back to a discussion we were having back in October about Halloween being important in our vaious locales (it's very important here in Denver)...neighbors up the way who LOVE Halloween simply dressed up their various skeletons with Christmasy paraphernalia, which I thought was funny :D. Early morning walk.
At least they recycle.

I find that busy scenes don't yield well to b/w.

I love b/w and have thoughts of getting a dedicated b/w digital. And I know that there would be scenes that I wish for color.
do you consider this busy? i have a different one from the same roll that is rather minimal but i find it really boring. i'll try to remember to post it tomorrow.

mostly i have a hard time getting higher contrast without crushing blacks. there's not as much dynamic range with film and i think i have to just let go of detail in blacks like i have with digital.
