That is indeed crispy but boo on not allowing for manual control of the lens.
Yes. The Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8 L is a very expensive lens. It does have an AF/MF switch in the barrel, but no marks on the barrel indicating the focus distances including the infinite mark (). The focus distances can be seeing and changed in the viewfinder, but it means that one has to power the camera to focus the lens manually. The very good but inexpensive Canon RF lenses don't even have the MF/AF switch in the barrel, so one has to set them to manual focus in the menu :)

Keep an eye on the in the sky in the Northern regions around the world (wherever you may live) for auroral activity.
R6 and RF 15-35mm at f/2.8L for a 4-second exposure. ISO about 1,200 (camera on a tripod, lens on electronic manual focus, 15mm). The lens is very sharp, but the focus distances-infinite in the case-can only be set electronically since it lacks the distances on the lens barrel. It will stay set on whichever focus distance you choose, unless you turn the camera off.

On my crop 70D I loved manual infinity focus for Astro photos with the 11-16mm F2.8 Tokina lens.
Set it and if you zoom still infinity .

Me and my R5 are patiently waiting for B&H to deliver the just released RF 10-20 f4.0, placed my order 10/16.

I am relatively new here so I hope it's okay that I take the space to say this, but on a day we in the US typically give thanks for the blessings in our lives, I want to say that I am thankful I found this forum and this thread and have been able to enjoy the work by all of you AMAZING photographers on a daily basis. I have been able to experience many parts of the world I would otherwise never have seen. Keep up the excellent work; all of you have a gift..and...Happy Thanksgiving!

I have been using a Tokina SD 16-28mm f/2.8 (IF) FX (WA lens for FF Canon cameras). This is an outstanding lens.

Do you have much trouble with the cold and your gear? I know temps get pretty brutal. I’ve seen photos of cameras iced over even.

I used my gear on Denali in near -40F temps. Just had to watch for condensation when going into the "warmth" (-20F or so) of our tents. Batteries can be problematic - needed lots of them. You just have to take care.

Edit - One other thing to take care of in deep cold - no metal on bare skin! I made the most God-awful mistake of putting a carabiner in my mouth in those temps. The result was "most unpleasant".
