I really like the upper crest color of the waves as if it were similar to stained glass. Great timing to get him in a fulcrum type of position

Yup morning light is challenging for the shadows but I think the backlit effect is well worth losing some detail, artistically speaking. Here is one of my favorites, don't know if you'll like it as well...

Been creeping around MacRumors and decided it was time to join in...
I figured I would make my first post in the threads were I spend the most time browsing....

I'm just getting into the whole photography thing... I'm loving every minute of it. I just really liked how this pic came out. I just got drawn to the randomness of this bracket.

I am also using lightroom and GIMP (since Photoshop isn't in the budget right now)

I just had to stop on the way home from work tonight to get a picture of the beach. The wind was blowing 35 to 45 mph and raining to beat the band. Not the best conditions, but what the heck...

Welcome! I really like the textures and the DOF in this shot, although I would probably crop it a bit so that the bracket isn't so centered.
