Thanks for the comments on my previous pic Phrasikleia, fitshaced and TheDrift.
I was lucky, the sun peeped out from behind the clouds for a brief minute or two before setting over the mountain.

Great sky and lighting! Powerful shot.

Beautiful balance of chilling cold and warmth.
I love how the trail of light leads along the mountain line towards the lit building, great work!

Here's one for surfer Rob:

Thanks guys, @fitshaced this was shot from a rock platform, I found a sheltered position from the strong cold wind and had a good few meters before the whitewash rolling in.
All I can say is that I wasn't terribly close nor far, it's easy to forget about reality when you're tracking through a lens :p (EF 400mm f/5.6L)

Very nice: the strata in the rocks, and the way the light hits the white building. Looks like an exciting road to drive...

Yes, it was an exciting road, to say the least. I was very glad on the ride back down to be in a car with good brakes!

Here's a shot with more of the road visible, taken about a half an hour earlier than my last photo:

There's a popular burger & bar place called The Vortex in the Little Five Points area of Atlanta. It is rather iconic for the large skull over the entrance.

Absolutely magic atmosphere, beautiful colours! Love it.
My new favourite of yours? There are too many now!

Thank you, Reef. :) It may be my own new favorite too. I had a really magical experience at that location, however, so it's nearly impossible for me to see my photos from it with any kind of objectivity!

Steel wool shot from this weekend.

Steel wool orb by Northwest dad, on Flickr

These steel wool shots seem to be all the rage these days. I've been seeing a lot of them posted to 500px. I like the location you chose because the sparks bouncing off of the rocks on the ground adds an extra bit of dynamism. You might try doing one during the "Blue Hour" too; the orange light against a deep blue sky can be a great color combination. :)

Ninja crab. Penn Cove, Whidbey Island

Turn over any rock at low tide and you find dozens of these little guys. I call them "Ninja Crabs" because of the martial arts stance one of them gave me. They are about the size of a quarter.

Awesome capture!

The position of the freighter ruined this shot... I'll have to go back another evening.

Very nice VR, I wouldn't say the ship ruined it, I think you were fortunate to have it floating smack bang in between the two rocky silhouettes rather than it cutting into them. Love the colours, a very interesting shot well done!
