I like this one to.

you're too kind! this particular photo has always been baffling for me; if I liked it or not. I kinda liked the colors, but not the contrast. I liked the framing from the middle upwards, but I hate that black diagonal hill on the right. I like the depth of field and how the mountains get lost in the 'mist', but I hate the cemented part on the left.

That's why I've never posted it in the past.

Anywhoo

Yes the cemented part on the left is my least favourite part of it. But I like the streaming in from the left.

Nice colours. I love my 14-24, f2.8. Must be even better on your FF camera. Only downside is that you can't use filters with it due to the front glass element.

There some filters options out there but they aren't cheap. Lee has a setup in the 300-400 dollar range.

Yet another of my son, this one from just a few days after he was born. He had some initial problems that required a trip to the operating room to fix. He is doing well now. Took this post-op in the neonatal ICU while he was still intubated. My wife hates this pic as it brings back unpleasant memories. But I am fond of it--have to remember the good with the bad. :)

Prayers for continued improvement. These are moments that make you be very grateful for what you have and forget all of the other bullis*#t.

Thanks for the kind words. Much appreciated. Easy to lose sight of the big picture--both with life and photography.

Mine for today. More of the stream before (or after depending on your POV) the waterfall.

Comments always welcome.

AFB, I like this shot, but in portrait crop as suggested in the attachment.

The "streamfall" takes up a larger part of your pic while your viewer becomes less distracted by the flora and concentrates on the nice subtle meanders & steps traveling diagonally across your frame.

Also, I would suggest you lock your original pictures in your flickr settings to avoid people being able to download the original files. Unless of course you want that.

I had no idea about this also. Thanks for the heads up.

It makes one realise that all those things we previously thought were important, are in fact the complete opposite. Here's to your son's continued improvement. One day he will want to know all about it, and your pictures will be incredibly valuable then.

This upsets me as it makes me think about how I would feel if it were my daughters lying there. So I suppose from a provocation, thought and emotional perspective it is strong.

I am so so happy that the wee man is doing OK and lets hope this is the last time you get a photo opportunity like this...

Thanks for the tips. I don't do a lot of portrait angles on a tripod. Not sure why as it isn't that hard to flip it up.
Not sure anybody will want to steal my stuff, but I'll change it.
