We found this very young hedgehog wandering around the garden, fed him (her) some worms and he trundled around quite happily for a while until he curled up and fell asleep under the apple tree. He had dug out a nest in the grass and once we realised he was out for the count covered him over gently with some loose grass to keep him warm.
No idea if this is hibernation for real or just a night's nap, but we will try and keep an eye on him.

Snuffle snuffle!
Mrs AFB had to rescue a Willow Warbler fledgeling today that struck our patio doors.
He then fell into our potted plants and got caught up in the clematis.
He recovered in our neighbours greenhouse away from any cats. Of course if I'd been home I'd have taken his photo.

Yes, they're a bit close to winter to be so young - I hope they both survive.

I wondered if your shown location was correct?
