Took too long to decide which photo to post for the Weekly contest so I'll just leave this here....

Painfully ironic for me. My trusty '08 MacBook Pro finally died and I'm stuck in Windows land with my wife's HP laptop and no serious photo editing software. Can't even access the backup of my Aperture library unless I buy a copy of LR for Windows. Probably be in limbo until the first of next year.

Buy creative cloud for a year. It gives you rights to put it on one windows AND one mac at same time....

I just half expected that sign to read' Arbeit Macht Frei'

(Apology: I realised afterwards how negative that was. I am thoroughly enjoying ALL the Autumn colours of these beautiful photographs.)

Actually the sign says 'Knights of Pythias'--which is a non-sectarian fraternal organization. I assume this section of the cemetery was reserved for their members. It is a cemetery above the old mining town of Central City, CO.
Another shot in the cemetery...

That's a thought. The HP has 4 gigs of ram and I don't want to put any money into it. The processor is an i5 at 2.5 Ghz. All minimum specs for CC apps. IE wouldn't let me open the purchase tab at the Adobe site to read about the specs and I had to switch to Fire Fox to do that. I "love" Windows...

Mate, you want to talk about an exercise in torture? I work for HP! So I HAVE to use windows even though it is just to get past it onto decent machines running UNIX.

Dont get me wrong, HP kit relative to the others is very very good but unless you are paying Mac prices, it just isnt exciting enough. Pay Mac prices however and it is amazing kit despite its aforementioned handicap.

I think you should look at CC also most of the plugins I have bought have a similar licensing entitlement so you might find that they work for you too for now.

Also RAM is cheap, maybe upgrade it a tad to keep you going longer and your wife will thank you for it later.
