Loch Trool in Autumn
October 2018
This is a scene that's been in my mind's eye for many, many years and I was very fortunate to capture this striking autumnal scene from the banks of Loch Trool on my first visit to the exact spot last weekend. I went on a recce trip a week before the image was taken - although it was to visit another part of Loch Trool instead. On that trip, I noticed that the autumn colour wasn't quite there and felt another week would do it. Then, when the weather forecast just happened to be optimal a week later - I went back down and was rewarded with a picture perfect scene. All I had to do was make sure I got it on film. I shot 2 rolls of Velvia 50 film for a total of 8 frames of different exposures and graduated filter placements (just to be sure) and sent it for processing to the lab. After a nervous wait of just under a week - my mind was put at ease when I viewed the gorgeous 6x17cm slide on my light table. Sometimes, things just seem to click into place - and that is one of the most satisfying things about landscape photography.

A lorry I believe.Oh, dear.......someone had a REALLY bad day!!!! Looking forward to the photos from the wild area session......
I think those bumbers are being banned here for lack of give during an impact.A rubbish snap, but the aftermath of someone’s day which meant I spent an extra 3 hours on the M6 today. View attachment 798322
Did mean I missed out on a few photos at my wild area session. Better photos to follow tomorrow.

I don’t believe so. The lorry was stuck on top of the barrier. If it had been a car, I think it would have been a different story.I hope no one was injured, or if they were, that there were no fatalities......
I had traffic on the way back which meant the Sat Nav took me an unusual way home. Unfortunately my friend drove the M6 part and his Sat Nav didn’t seem to be connecting to the traffic part. By the time we were stuck in it, it was too late.In an interesting twist of coincidence, I was busy taking out my rubbish when I heard the screech and smash of a car accident up the block just this afternoon! I did not take a picture, but one car was up in the lawn. I guess watch out today?
