Just a follow-up on yesterday. No apparent damage so thought helmet wasn't involved, until took a closer look. Obviously save me face and scalp roadrash, and from the indents, absorbed the impact with the asphalt. Helmet will obviously be replaced, but the good news, won't have to replace the sunglasses. Despite retrieved in 4 pieces - frame with deformed nose bridge, 2 lens, and Rx insert - they all fit back together and the wire nose bridge easy to adjust back into shape. The non-prescription lens are designed to be removed for a warranty/low cost scratch replacement program.

Loving the retro matte like feel of the images coming off that lensbaby (making sure not to cause offence by putting a space in the middle of lensbaby).
The colors are actually really good from the lensbaby; definitely better than my Sigma, which is my only other non-Nikon branded lens. But the matte look (flat blacks) is from processing. ? Just been feeling a little different with the fall colors emerging, so have switched up the editing a bit. Unless you are talking about the smooth glow type look, which is definitely from the lens. I think the apple image was shot at f/2.8 which has a very definite glowy feel to it. At f/4, which is where I typically shoot that lens, the glow is just in the bokeh/outer frame. But I know I opened up on the apple image. Unfortunately the LBs don't record metadata since they are all manual lenses so I have to rely on my lame memory.

Playing around last night with my Slinky..... It started out as something I wanted to check with my settings, and from there evolved into a full-out shooting session since I was having so much fun. I hadn't even set up a proper lighting arrangement, just used the overhead LED lights in the chandelier and a couple of highly-reflective surfaces: a silver art paper flexible "board" as backdrop and a similarly highly reflective black surface set on the oak dining table.

Looks like I will be using prime lens for a while. With the left arm in a sling, can't reach up (with or without the sling) to adjust the zoom or steady a long lens. Perhaps could use the left to steady a monopod and do everything with the right, but essrntially one handed photography (and typing) for know.
