A weaverbird nest. Weaver Birds are native to the area but assembled in an educational area of the gardens. May have been hand built using local material as other items along the walk were. On their bird sighting checklist, the only bird in the Weaver Finch category was House Sparrow.

Wow...that is good camouflage and a sturdy looking house. Good photo.

Had to walk on the grass for the angle and zooming with my feet using a 55 prime. Weaver birds are interesting, in addition to their construction design skill can actually tie knots with their beaks. Typical terrain is tropical areas of Africa and several Asian areas. Not native to Florida, and introducing them may push the invasive specie envelope too far to be allowed - but they probably could survive.

Wild Rose And Wind Belt
Cottonwoods along the north western edge of the Frank Slide. This image illustrates the main weakness of the teeny tiny sensor in Fuji Xp 90. It just cannot fully resolve fine detail at a distance. But does look a bit better if you click on it and expand to full size.

Flattened the image, added a 'soft light'dupe layer and applied sharpening filter to that soft light layer, gives me better control of sharpening and a slight boost in midtone contrast.
