How does one get the exif info from a photo someone posts.

Here on the forum, if it's posted as an attachment (even if the attachment is later inserted into the text of the post), just click it. You'll see its "Media Information" (assigned by the site), but also its "Image Metadata" (that is, the EXIF data). Not every image will have EXIF data, as has been mentioned some software will strip it. But you often can tell the date and time, the camera, and other data. Go through the thread, and see which photos are clickable, you'll see.

There are ways to see it in other ways not connected to the site (if you use Photos on Mac you can see a lot of it in the photo's Info screen; I'm sure other organizers work the same way). I'll defer to others for that guidance.

EDIT: I am noticing now that only the first photo on any page of posts is clickable as media. Hm. That's gotta be a bug.

Piggybacking on that, if you use a Mac, you can remove the GPS location data from your photos if you're posting something that was photographed at your house or work, in the event you'd prefer that internet strangers don't know where you live/work.

Open the image in Preview, hit CMD+I for info, and then click on the GPS tab, and the remove location info button at the bottom.

Best laid plans for naught. Was going to watch the Falcon Heavy 9:41 AM launch today 20 miles away in the Wetlands Park. Fog didn't lift and was so heavy couldn't even see a red glow, but did hear the sound. Oh well, I'm out there so may as well walk around the nature park. Overcast lighting is something different.

Perhaps you were still in October mode, whereas it is now November ;)

Cheers :)
