The De Havilland Comet was the first jet airliner to enter service in the world, entering service on 2 May 1952 on the London to Johannesburg route for BOAC.

This is a later Comet 4c at the Museum of Flight at East Fortune near Edinburgh.

Survived the hurricane with minimal damage. Had wind gust up to 100mph over the evening. Just limbs to clean up (tree limbs...not other limbs). We are one of the few neighborhoods that still has power according internet chatter on the Ring app. Haven't walked the neighborhood yet as still drizzly. When taking the photo of the front and side yards, didn't see anything significant, like fallen trees, up and down the two streets.
