Monument to Cristobal Colon (aka Christopher Columbus) in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria
Columbus stopped in Gran Canaria twice. The first time in 1492 on the first trip at Las Palmas to repair the rudder of the Pinta. The second visit was on the fourth trip in 1502 to restock at Maspalomas in the south of the island.
