Just got back from a trip to Munich, so I can finally develop the rolls of film I shot on the trip. This one was shot with a Rolleiflex T I got for a quite reasonable price in Munich, on a roll of Ilford HP5 that the secondhand camera shop threw in for free—the picture is of course a crop from the original square exposure.
I chose to visit Nankin Lake in Hines Park (Wayne County, MI) to take some photographs, not expecting to see much wildlife, particularly birds. To my surprise, a Double-crested Cormorant was still present and decided to come in close, which was a pleasant experience.
I saw these back in May, around 4:30am north of Philly. Only grabbed a few shots before twilight kicked in. I missed them back in Aug when this happened again. And clouds took over in my area last Sun night and Monday night when auroras kicked in around here on the horizon.
I was so pumped after another solar X flare burped on - I think - Tues. and was about to create a possible massive geomagnetic storm Thurs. It did. I expected to see the Auroras, but honestly I did NOT expect this! 😳 This was truly amazing!
Bucks County, PA - about 30-35 miles north of Philadelphia.
