Wish we had these fellas here. Such cool birds. Don't think I've ever seen (read a photo of) a brown one, guess they come in different flavors.A Kookaburra on Moreton Island, who refused to make eye contact with me.

Cheers. I think they are more partial to nuts than spiders!I love squirrels. Not as much as my dog does apparently but I'm cool with them......as long as they're not carrying a bag of spiders.
Hope you feel better soon AFB.

Thanks, and yes it is indeed! Yummy things they are, especially when cooked in a white wine, garlic and cream sauce.Cracking detail in the plumage. Any relationship of the island to the famous (and delicious) Bugs?
And ugly as sin for good measure! They'd give MacRy a fright...Thanks, and yes it is indeed! Yummy things they are, especially when cooked in a white wine, garlic and cream sauce.

Thank you very much for your kind commentsLove this and agree with AFB's comments about the difficulty of shooting something like this. Have to have everything dead center level in both the horizontal and vertical planes to avoid distortion. Also have to be standing dead center in the middle of the aisle to maintain symmetry (or be far enough off that it is obvious it was intentional).
One other thing I love about this is the color gradient going from warm at the bottom to cooler at the top.
My only (very) minor quibble is the lack of symmetry from the stained glass window on the right without something to balance it on the left. Possibly crop it a little tighter to exclude some of the extraneous stuff on the right edge?
Stellar shot. Love it!!

Beautiful Alex!
I believe our version of a Kookaburra is a Kingfisher but you wouldn't get close enough to a Kingfisher to even attempt eye contact. This guy looks laser-focused on something...cool.
