Autumn is definitely here as the temperatures begin to cool down and the colorful autumn flowers appear:

Thank you! For some reason I always associate them with autumn.....maybe because they come out later, towards end-of-summer, beginning of fall? Or at least that is usually when I've seen them. And, yes, of course because of their colors!

There will be more images eventually coming from my afternoon a couple of days ago at Green Spring Gardens; while some flowers I recognize, others are definitely new and different and I have no idea of what they are, but they were fun to shoot!

Maybe just because they are tough enough to survive summer, while also having the oranges and yellows of fall. I’ve heard they naturally repel mosquitos, though I’ve never tested the idea.

Yeah, I never thought about crocus because it’s a fall bloomer. My only experience with them in the past is late winter/early spring. These are also so much bigger than what I’m used to, but I think you both are on to something!
If they have grassy leaves which appear with the flowers, or in spring, they're autumn flowering crocuses (croci? :)). If they have quite big leaves that appear in spring, they're Colchicums, also known as Autumn Crocus because they look rather like crocus even though they're not related.

The Fall has ended in the Interior of Alaska :)
