I nearly skipped my daily visit to Nankin Lake (Hines Park, Wayne County, Michigan) due to the overcast weather. When I first arrived, I only saw mallard ducks, which weren't particularly interesting to me. However, my luck turned when a deer appeared along the shoreline of Nankin Lake, and I believe I managed to capture some quality photos of it.

So I'm not alone in naming my wildlife critters! :D. You all have seen photos of Alfred the Great Blue Heron, of course, and along the way I've also shared a few photos of Walt, the Mossback Turtle as well as Harry the Green Heron and Randy, this year's resident Cormorant.....
Nah, we had a very large possum that would come up and eat with the outside cats for a few years. Named him Fatso. Then we had Bandit the Raccoon and his family that lived under the house for a while. Then we had a Mockingbird that sat on our power pole every morning and screeched at everything. His name was Grumpy. Then we had about 7 months of a Cardinal that pecked our kitchen window all day long. His name was Larry Bird.
